what game did we play?

On the 7th of November we got to play Korfball for the first time. When we arrived to play there were two big hoops that I did not know what it they were. We got into teams and we said that we will add rules as we go on. So the first two rules were that we were not allowed to kick the ball and the other rule was that we were not allowed to pull the ball out of another players hand. This was hard cause people would run with the ball and we were not allowed to pull it out of their hands. So then we stopped and did two more rules you can not move with the ball in your hands and you can not touch the people with the ball so then we played with all four rules. We then stopped again and added more rules, we split the court into two halves, our team was shooting and the other team were trying to get the ball,  and the other rule was not going onto the other half of the court. Then we stopped again for the last two rules two was every two shots the ball changed sides so you get to go on every side while playing, the lasts rule was if you block the person on the line of the hoop and they shoot you get the ball. And that is how we learned how to play Korfball on the 7th of November.

On the 29 of October we went to go for a school trip where did we go.? Ferry mead because for our Pbl our question it is how can the past came into our life now?. We went on a bus to go to Ferry mead. When we got there we got the rules and got change into what they wear back in 1900's. So that was funny we had long pants, long tops and a hat. First we went to have some morning tea and then we went to the hall where we played a game money or bag. So he asked us a question and who got the question got to go up. To get the prize you had to get two more question and if you got them you got to pick the money or the bag. If you pick the bag there was two prizes but you only got one. There was a trick the money was old money so you can not use the money. Next we went to the school we had to used ink pens so you tip the pen in the oil then you write it was lot's of fun. After that it was a movie that was made in new Zealand. It was about a day in NZ in the 1900's so the seats where old. When you sit down the seat then the back so it was not the best seat. I am not going to tell you everything so if you do go there you do not know everything. That is the bog post for this week.

On the 24th of October we went to Rawhiti domain to do our athletics. The people on the news said it was going to rain, but it was nice in the morning so we went to athletics. When we got there we went to shot put. My first throw was 5.6m so it was not the best but we had two throws. My next one was 6.9m so I think I came second so I might be going to zones. High jump was next so I was happy. I love high jump. I jump with my left leg so I am on the left side and everyone on the right went first so I had to wait for a bit. Then it was my turn. I thought it was easy but it was hard. I did not make my first jump but we had two jumps and I got the next one. I was so happy. There were 12 people who did that jump with me. If you did not do the jump you had to watch us do it. I did not do the first one but I did the next. I was on to the third jump which I did not make. Next it was discus. I was not the best at discus I came 5th with 11.6m. At that time it was getting dark with rain clouds but we did long jump. I do not know what place I came but it was not the best. Then it was time to eat but then I could feel rain drops on my arm. Then the rain was coming down as fast as it could so we had to race to get on the bus to come back to school. That was my day at athletics.

On the 18 of October we did some art, we had to look at Gordon Walters to get inspire by his art. We look at his art and then we did same art. First I did same shapes, like a circle and squares and put them beside each other and did same more shapes. Then we did the colours. I only coloured in the shapes that I did. Then i got a black pen and went over the lines in back so it pop out. It took a long time but that was that.

My Waka Adventure

There I was, sitting in the waka. There were people everywhere at least 50 people I look be hide me there was 9 waka's. I said to someone" where are we going? what am I doing here?" then he said" we our going to find a new island" then we walk away. After that I think for a minute they most have fishing nets to catch fish the fishing net was made out of flax and the hock was carved from bones.

 The people on the wake was strong and brave to travelling to island that they did not know where they was going we might not even make it to the place that we are going to we might go in a circle and end up where we started. We where a few hours in and I was getting hungry so I was going to get some cake but I said to myself cool only fish so I cook up some fish  and that was that

4 months in I was getting used to being on the waka but I had sore bones for doing nothing but walking around the waka. But then I head some birds singing so we most be close but one of the man said" the birds that you can hear that means that we are getting close but people say that you can hear the birds from 5 metres away so we are getting there but not that close". This is cool I wonder if there is other people on the island I hope not we might be the first people there. Then I saw the green trees so high and the birds was ever where it was beautiful there was two islands. When we got there was a big hill. Boom! we hit the sand my legs sore I was wobbling off the boat. I got my heavy bag off the boat when we went up the hill there was a swap with flat land that was the best land that we hope for. After 1 year living there we made the name Christchurch.

Would you want to be on a waka that long and why? 

are PBL ivention convetion

On the 25th of September we had our invention convention. The invention convention is our PBL sharing of our final project. We shared our invention convention with year 5/6, that is my hub and year 7/8 so it was very busy and loud. We did our invention convention from 1.30 to 3.30 it was a long time standing for Blake and I. We had to share our table with other people because there was not a lot of room for everyone to go in the hall so there was people everywhere around us. half. Blake and I took turns going around to see what the other people had made, while the other person stayed at the stand telling people what we made, and that is a card holder TCC. My other friends were next to us so we played a game of cards when there was not a lot of people there. I hope you enjoyed this blog post.

the fun hub trip

On the 16th of September we went on a school trip to the Museum. When we got there we went to the Maori side of the museum. When we  got there we looked at how the Maori people would life and how old that will life up to. First the man teach as a story about how green stone came to NZ. After that we looked at the huts and homes that that build out of wood. And then he talk about how they will not waste a thing and if they killed a dog that will use the fur for clothes and the meat for food and bones for weapon. Then we went to go to the classroom and we got to use the tools that that used to made stuff out of. After that we got to have some lunch and climb a tree and then we got to go around the Museum it was fun the best thing was looking at the old towns it was lot's of fun.
